A Fast High-Order Solver for EM Scattering from Complex Penetrable Bodies: TE Case
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present a new high-order integral algorithm for the solution of scattering problems by heterogeneous bodies under TE radiation. Here, a scatterer is represented by a (continuously or discontinuously) varying refractive index ( ) within a two-dimensional (2-D) bounded region; solutions of the associated Helmholtz equation under given incident fields are then obtained by high-order inversion of the Lippmann–Schwinger integral equation. The algorithm runs in ( log( )) operations, where is the number of discretization points. Our method provides highly accurate solutions in short computing times, even for problems in which the scattering bodies contain complex geometric singularities.

We review non-conformal domain decomposition methods (DDMs) and their applications in solving electrically large and multi-scale electromagnetic (EM) radiation and scattering problems. In particular, a finite-element DDM, together with a finite-element tearing and interconnecting (FETI)-like algorithm, incorporating Robin transmission conditions and an edge corner penalty term, are discussed in...

متن کاملA New Integral Equation Formulation for Scattering by Penetrable Diffraction Gratings
This paper is concerned with the problem of scattering of time-harmonic electromagnetic waves from penetrable diffraction gratings in the 2D polarization case. We propose a new, weakly singular, integral equation formulation for the scattering problem which is proved to be uniquely solvable. A main feature of the new integral equation formulation is that it avoids the computation of the normal ...
متن کاملConvergence properties of a diakoptics method for electromagnetic scattering from 3-D complex structures
Linear embedding via Green’s operators (LEGO) is a diakoptics method that employs electromagnetic “bricks” to formulate problems of wave scattering from complex structures (e.g., penetrable bodies with inclusions). In its latest version the LEGO integral equations are solved through the Method of Moments combined with adaptive generation of Arnoldi basis functions (ABF) to compress the resultin...
متن کاملAn efficient and highly accurate solver for multi-body acoustic scattering problems involving rotationally symmetric scatterers
A numerical method for solving the equations modeling acoustic scattering in three dimensions is presented. The method is capable of handling several dozen scatterers, each of which is several wave-lengths long, on a personal work station. Even for geometries involving cavities, solutions accurate to seven digits or better were obtained. The method relies on a Boundary Integral Equation formula...
